Hoo, boy. She’s a given wash up. At the ripe old age of 25, Lindsay Lohan has accumulated so much bad press about her drug and alcohol addictions it’s no wonder she can’t get a role right now.She started out in commercials at the age of 3, headlining a series of successful and so-so flicks and for a while was a role model for teenie boppers and teens alike. Among her more successful films are The Parent Trap, Freaky Friday and Herbie: Fully Loaded (all of them remakes). In 2004 she launched a singing career which proved quite successful.
This is where it gets tawdry.
Personal problems, including a break up with restaurant owner Harry Morton made Lindsay less than reliable on her movie sets. Studio executive James G. Robinson wrote a public letter labelling Lindsay as “irresponsible and unprofessional.” He also wrote that Lindsay displayed “various late arrivals and absences from the set” and that “we are well aware that your ongoing all night heavy partying is the real reason for your so-called ‘exhaustion’. Ouch.
In 2006 Lindsay attended Alcoholics Anonymous in a vain attempt to rid herself of her alcoholism. Well, at least she’s trying. On May 26, 2007, Lindsay was arrested for drunk driving after crashing her car onto a curb. She was in possession of cocaine at the time of the arrest. She entered rehab for 45 days. However on July 24, 2007, Lindsay was again arrested on a DUI (Lindsay! get a clue), and it was back to rehab for Miss Lohan. To watch one of Lindsay’s many court appearances click here. In 2007 Lindsay released the statement Lohan released a statement in which she said “it is clear to me that my life has become completely unmanageable because I am addicted to alcohol and drugs”. Well someone has gotten through to that drugged up head of hers.
Perhaps one negative influence for Lindsay is her idolization of the late Marilyn Monroe, an actress known for her chronic lateness to movie sets, troubled relationships, and addiction to prescription medications. Great role model. Would it kill Lindsay to snag a healthy, new role model, one without alcohol and addiction problems?Numerous DUI’s, warrants for her arrest, drug use incidents and jail time continue to the present day. Lindsay is not having any success in rehab, so it would appear.
Lindsay is still able to work on some movie projects, some of them quite successful. However she has also been denied roles due to her drug use.
